Scenic Art and Painting<\/h1>\n

These are collections of artwork created for various projects in the theatre and other events. These samples show a range of textures and techniques used by Mikayla Blanchard in her work from imitation stonework to landscapes. Blanchard has also volunteered with local schools on a variety of projects to teach students about scenic art while assisting with their productions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scenic Painting With High School Students\u00a0<\/h3>\n

Scenic painting for a production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast<\/em> at Nipomo High School\u00a0in February of 2020. Blanchard’s contribution to this project included painting the palace structure in a faux marble finish, the painted carpeting on the stairs, and the faux stained-glass windows.<\/p>\n

Scenic Painting with Middle School Students<\/h3>\n

A workshop to teach Drama Students at Mesa Middle School about painting techniques and applying\u00a0those techniques to paint their set for a production of Cinderella in 2014. She taught them techniques that included\u00a0texture,\u00a0lowlight and highlight, as well as\u00a0demonstrated techniques for woodgrain and clouds.<\/p>\n
